Much has been said about Pepper Lunch since its debut at the basement of Takashimaya Shopping Centre in July 2005. Many have tried this fast food fusion of Japanese and Western cuisine on hotplates, only to go back for seconds, and thirds.
And even now, friends never fail to drag this reviewer back almost once every week. What makes this Japanese fast food restaurant so appealing?

My Boss My Hero was quite an unexpected find – an adaptation of a Korean comedy about a young, academically-disinclined son of a Yakuza boss.
Sakaki “Tornado” Makio is 27 years old and the heir to the Kantou Sharp Fang Yakuza family. He excels at the delinquent life – drinking, fighting, and women. He is also a high school drop-out.
His father worries for his future and issues him a challenge – he must graduate from high school, or be unable to succeed as boss of the Yakuza organisation. This also means that he must pose as a 17 year old, doing all someone that age would do. If his cover is blown, so is his school career and thus, his future as a Yakuza boss.

To make a Grasshopper, combine equal parts of crème de menthe, crème de cacao and fresh cream in a shaker, shake and strain into a cocktail glass. That is bartending for you.
If you’re interested in learning the magic and history behind cocktails, a beautiful, slow-paced anime aptly called Bartender may just be the right solution for you.

I thought it appropriate to start the ball rolling with an editor’s note. I’m the self-proclaimed editor who spearheaded the website you’re looking at, by the way.
To say that the TPJCG online magazine (as it is currently called) is officially launched would not be the right thing to say. There is a certain beauty in imperfection, the whole concept of being somewhat rough and unpolished around the edges. The World Wide Web is exactly that – constantly changing, developing and adding new content all the time.
